Science & Research: Your Best Source |
|
According to a New York Times article, science web
sites are not always accurate with one in five web sites
providing the right information (Hilts 2001).
As a biology student, you are often asked to research
specific topics for your class including genetic disorders.
However, it is critical that you become aware of the good and bad sites
available and develop a plan to identify good, quality web sites.
Over eighty percent of the students surveyed at Blue
Valley West this Fall determined that their first place to search for
information is Google. So, if you decide to use Google, as many
students currently do, it is invaluable that you begin to evaluate the
sources you find. Most of all, don't forget about the sources the
LMC provides that are accurately reviewed to guide you along the
research process.
